Why do I have multiple disbursements?

Schools often split loan funds into multiple disbursements to align with the academic schedule. For example, if you borrowed for a full academic year, your loan might be divided into two disbursements: one for the Fall semester and another for the Spring semester.

 

This benefits you because interest doesn’t start accruing on funds until they’re disbursed to your school.
